PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINER

ABOUT THE ROLE
At WDU, we attribute our success to the strength of our team and our team is growing! We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and highly motivated Dog Trainer to join our team of professional pet dog trainers. Our trainers are responsible for leading group classes, one-on-one private training sessions and training workshops.

ABOUT THE WORK

- Learn, understand and adhere to Wonder Dog University Modern Dog Training standards and protocols
- Maintain a high level of communication and work collaboratively with all team members in a manner that is consistent with policy
- Lead Group Training Classes, or assist if needed, using only science-based training methods and WDU class curriculums
- Provide support for clients through one-on-one private consultations and training
- Lead and/or Assist in training workshops

Our team has a collaborative approach and enjoys a supportive work culture. Ideas for new training services and classes to offer are always welcome. Due to the close nature of the work, all team members are required to be vaccinated against Covid.
Compensation for classes is based on total number of students enrolled and ranges from $115 to $125 per student in each six-week class.
This position is ideal for someone who is either seeking part-time or full time work teaching group classes only, or also providing private training to our clients. We are also open to collaborating with an already practicing dog trainer who wants to teach classes for Wonder Dog University.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Self-disciplined, able to work with minimum supervision and adhere to deadlines
- Ability to confidently and effectively communicate with team members, business partners, clients and their dogs
- Comfortable working with diverse groups of people in a group setting or one-on one
- Dog handling skills, leash handling skills and basic dog manners training knowledge
- Companion dog group class training experience preferred
- A strong commitment to exclusively using science-based training and handling skills
- Must have a reliable PC or Mac, smart phone, internet connection and transportation
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Other knowledge and skills that will make you stand out from the pack
- Professional trainer certifications held
- More than 2 years experience professionally training companion dogs and their people
- A knowledge of Fear Free/Low Stress Handling and Husbandry, Learning Theory, and Classical and Operant Conditioning

TRAINING COORDINATOR - REMOTE (NON-ENTRY LEVEL)

ABOUT THE ROLE
At WDU, we attribute our success to the strength of our team and our team is growing! We are looking for a highly-motivated, digitally-savvy, dog-loving Training Coordinator to join our team and help our company continue its growth.
This person will work directly with the owner, key team members and their clients. As the first point of contact for client training inquiries and scheduling the coordinator will take on the day-to-day administrative tasks while leading the Client Experience. The coordinator will use existing online platforms to fulfill this while keeping in alignment with company goals to best serve our Clients.
The Training Coordinator must be a proactive self-starter, be highly organized, have excellent follow through and thorough communication skills while able to handle many diverse projects at once with very little supervision. At this time, this is a part-time, independent contractor role.

- Provide scheduling and related support for clients
- Support the maintenance and development of internal scheduling tools, including client database, email templates, content organization
- Maintain a directory and inventory of administrative and support materials, ensuring all resources are current and accurate
- Attend and participate in administrative meetings and lead follow up of action items

- 2-5 years in a digital administrative and customer service role, preferably in an office environment, but not required
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred, but not required
