A wagging tail = a happy dog, right? Not quite! While a wagging tail is typically associated with a general feeling of happiness or excitement from our dogs, that is not always the case.
📍Here are some things to keep in mind regarding a dog's tail wag.

When using a harness, we always recommend using a front clip harness. Keep the collar on your dog and clip the leash to both the harness and the collar at the same time. This is a great way to ensure your pup's safety. Also, works well for harnesses that may sag in the front.

WDU SKILLS TRAINING
Leave It (To Roxie)
Roxie is learning the Leave It skill to help her with general impulse control as well as her propensity to chase her cat brother, Baghera. This skill has many applications. Once trained you may use it to direct your dog away from any inappropriate item or action they are focusing on:
Trying to investigate or eat an unsafe item on the floor or ground outside
Chasing Mr. Squirrel (or their cat brother Baghera)
Barking at something
Mouthing at you
Repeated jumping on a person
Note: Leave It is different from the Wait skill. Your dog should not be allowed to have the item they have been asked to "leave."
📌 REMINDER:Management is a key piece in preventing or changing behavior.

UNLOCKING US WITH BRENÉ BROWN
Why we ❤️ it:
A VERY binge-able podcast. Brené, a research professor and author of five #1 New York Times Best Sellers, has studied courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy for over two decades.
She believes that you "have to walk through vulnerability to get to courage, therefore . . . embrace the suck." She tries "to be grateful every day, and her motto right now is 'Courage over comfort.'” She's got some knowledge to drop!
Group classes are kept small and fill up very quickly, so you'll want to sign up ASAP! Class size is limited & first-come, first-serve.
