Group Puppy Classes
Great for important puppy socialization - each group class is designed to meet puppies' specific needs at each age and stage of development.

Private One-on-One Training
You can also receive in-home, private, one-on-one training to dig into any specific behaviors you'd like to focus on more or that are specific to the home environment. Start with a New Client Initial Consult or choose to jump in with a Private Consult Package of multiple sessions.

Initial Training Consult
This gives us an opportunity to accomplish several things; share initial management pointers to take the edge off as your new family member settles into their new home, answer immediate training questions and demonstrate foundational skills and explain what training options would look like for continued progress for your specific needs.

Private Training Packages
Many clients come to us ready to jump in. Especially with puppies, this is optimal as there's no pause button on their development and needs. We offer discounted packages of multiple lessons in 3, 5 and 10 session packages. We  prefer to meet once a week, if possible, so we can build upon the lessons taught for optimal learning progress.

 Private Training Options - Private Dog Training 

Once you register and schedule your sessions on our website, your trainer meets with you in your home where distractions are at a minimum. Learning is best done with a low level of distraction at first for dogs and people. If it is possible to have everyone in the home present for lessons, we strongly encourage this, so knowledge is shared first-hand and consistency in communicating with your dog occurs moving forward.

Your trainer arrives having reviewed the Pre-Consultation Questionnaire you completed when registering. Your trainer will have a solid understanding of your needs, but they also take time to dive deeper into the information provided to be certain your most pressing needs are addressed first. We understand you may be struggling with your pup or dog and want to provide relief. With our experience, we also know that your “wish list” of training goals may have related causes and solutions. Our aim is to utilize tools that will get you the quickest results, but also foresee which training protocols will provide you long term success for real-life with your dog.

Next, management options and training skills are recommended and demonstrated to start your progress and build a solid foundation for future lessons. Your trainer will coach you as  you work with your dog and make adjustments as needed.

Before wrapping up, if the next lesson hasn’t been scheduled yet, we’ll take a moment to get that on the calendar. It’s best to meet every seven (7) to ten (10) days for optimal training progress. This allows your trainer time to provide lesson follow up tutorials and you via email and the time you’ll need to review them and practice at home with your dog before the next lesson. You are expected to have reviewed all materials shared and practiced before the next lesson to make the most of your training time. Your trainer can then get your feedback on how the lessons worked for you and your dog, coach further, make adjustments where needed and help you take the training to the next level.

In-Person Private Consults:  In Person Private Training

Our group training classes are kept very small, compared to others, with a maximum of six (6) students. This promotes learning for both you and your dog in this distracting and stimulating environment.

In group classes, a curriculum of topics is covered, designed to address the needs of the specific class topic or puppy development stage, per the ages of the puppies.

Much time and care has been taken to develop each class to provide the tools needed, based on our training experience.

Each week, you meet with your trainer in a group, new skills are demonstrated, the purpose and benefits of those skills are detailed and your  trainer coaches each person and dog team for optimal training as they practice.

Group Classes: Group Classes 

“Train Your Dog for You,” known as "Day Training," is the white glove alternative to sending your dog away to an old fashioned bootcamp. Your trainer takes the lead, working directly with your dog in the comfort of home to make the most of the training time. The focus can be on Basic Manners or Behavior Modification for  problem behaviors. This is not a good option for Housetraining/Potty Training needs. For this we recommend a package of three (3) Private Consults. Report Cards detailing the day’s work and your dog’s progress are provided each visit. Written and video tutorials, explaining the training exercises for each skill taught to your dog, are emailed, so you can follow along. Private Training provides you the opportunity to train with your dog, so you understand not only how to teach your dog for their immediate needs, but also how to approach future training needs. Your trainer meets with you in your home, preferably every seven (7) to ten (10) days for optimal training progress. This allows your trainer time to provide lesson follow up tutorials and you the time to review them and practice at home with your dog before the next lesson. Known as “reactive behaviors” these can be stressful for both humans and dogs. There are two main options to address this type of behavior, and most clients tell us they’ve benefited greatly from a combination of both.

Our Reform School group class allows us to demonstrate hands-on management and behavior changing skills. You will have the opportunity to practice creating a positive association to other dogs and people in a controlled and safe environment. We provide real-life coaching to set you up for successful future walks. New client? We include an initial in-home, Private Training Consult prior to class start (register early to schedule this pronto!).

In-Person, Private Consults give us an opportunity to visit you in your home to accomplish several things; share management tactics to take the edge off, answer immediate training questions, demonstrate behavior modification skills and address your specific needs in the home and neighborhood environments.

Clients usually start by registering for the upcoming Reform School class and a package of three (3) Private Lessons to address both needs.

Wonder Dog University uses only evidence-based training methods. This means all of the skills you and your dog will use are backed by animal behavior science that has proven how dogs learn and process information for the most successful and humane outcomes. Your dog will choose to make the right decisions versus being forced to make these decisions out of fear of consequences. Our methods are no force, and without the use of aversive tools such as “leash pops,” choke, shock or prong/pinch collars.
